Replacing Arcadia: what this covers and what it does not
How prices are calculated
Average price = utility revenue ÷ kWh sold, from EIA. It includes energy, delivery, fixed charges, taxes and fees, so it is what customers pay on average per kWh.
Monthly utility prices cover bundled service only: customers who buy their energy from the utility. Customers on a competitive supplier are not in these averages.
Delivery-only (yearly DOE/NREL figure) is the utility's price for customers who buy energy elsewhere.
Tariff energy price is the published $/kWh rate plus any adjustment in the tariff. Fixed charge is per month; daily charges are multiplied by 30.42.
EIA-861M figures for recent months are marked preliminary by EIA and can be revised.
